History
Factor Desenvolvimento was started up in January 2009 with the aim of impressing a responsible change in the society as well as of contributing to its well-fare and balance not only by using creative ideas and projects, but also through the activation of mechanisms of social cohesion. Since then, Factor Desenvolvimento has consolidate its heritage of professional and relational competences, by focusing its intervention on areas such as territorial strategic planning; creative consultancy; and operational consultancy in sectors like culture, health, education and environment. It also suggests the development of projects of economical sustainability aimed to the strategic planning of culturally developed regions and to the social and economic development of a territory.
At an initial stage, Factor Desenvolvimento will particularly focus on how to wake up the public and private actors’ sensitivity to the main topics to the local development and to the need of activating mechanisms of synergetic cooperation amongst the different social actors

The reason for Factor Desenvolvimento to exist
Taking into consideration the fact that innovation, knowledge, creativity and talent seem to be the main elements for the competitiveness of a city, they assume a definite role in the strategic development of a territory. Also, talented people seem to be attracted to dynamic cities and culturally rich centres. Therefore, at an initial stage, Factor Desenvolvimento’s aim is to promote and encourage significant cultural and social activities involving the local community, as they are the ones who better know the collective needs, promoting this way the importance of social responsibility and well-being.
This basis is fundamental, at a later stage and in multidimensional vision, to plan the creation of nests for local enterpreneurism, encouraging the development of infra-structures able to give support to science and technology with the purpose of transmitting a new dimension to the competitive image of regions like the Algarve or the Alentejo. This way and in the long term, these regions may be able to be placed on an international platform of reference where they may occupy a place of evidence among the multiple current spots of attraction for talented people.
